A+E Lab is an art and technology hub located in Historic Dockyard Chatham, led by AΦE, an innovative XR dance company and associate artist of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries/University of Kent.
We deliver:
• Creation of AΦE's innovative productions
• Technology and cultural community engagement programmes
• Presentation and curation of high-quality artistic work

OUR VISION
We envision A+E Lab to be
• A space where unique artistic experiences using art and new technologies can be thought through, developed and created.
• A hub for the local community, including those least engaged in the arts, to take part in projects centred around learning new digital skills.
• A platform where artists, researchers and experts in arts and tech meet and develop new ideas together.
• A home to AΦE, giving the company a space to create and develop its innovative productions.

OUR MISSION
Our mission is to democratise access to digital tools and skills and provide support and access to inspiring space and equipment to artists and researchers working in the fields of Art and/or Technology.
A+E Lab democratises access to culture and digital tools, providing space, equipment and networking opportunities to creative practitioners and local community.
Our activities, 2022-2025 include:
• 49 new projects were created at the A+E Lab
• 105 event/exhibition days in Medway
• 247 education sessions online and in person in Medway
• Worked with 329 creatives, artists and specialists
• Supported 145 artists for their creations
• Engaged 2802 participants, of which 884 participants were engaged in our activities in Medway
• Engaged 27762 live audiences, of which 16230 live audiences were engaged in our activities in Medway
Since opening, we are positioning Medway as a vibrant cultural hub with national and international connections.
