Our creative technology discovery workshops for schools, explore various ways to spark children and young people’s curiosity about creative technology. No device or coding skills needed.
Since 2022, we have delivered number of workshops in schools across Medway.

Creative AI Discovery Workshop
A free 1-hour workshop exploring real-time generative AI for school groups, led by creative technologist and AI developer Garin Curtis.
Students create their own paintings, then watch as AI generates live interpretations and soundscapes from their artwork. Through hands-on experimentation, they discover current possibilities of AI in creative practice, enhancing human creativity and using it as a collaborative tool. This workshop combines making, playing, and understanding how AI responds to and transforms creative input in real-time.
What students experience:
• Painting and creating original artwork
• Real-time AI interpretation of their images
• Sound generation from visual input
• Understanding of AI as a creative collaborator
• Exploration of current AI possibilities in art and music
Length: 60 minutes
Age: 7-14
Capacity: 30 people per session
Requirement: A projector or screen where we can display from our laptop. Painting tools e.g. paper, acrylic paint, coloured pencils etc.
Workshop leader: Garin Curtis
Garin Curtis is a London-based creative technologist and AI developer working across machine learning, interactive systems and contemporary art. He collaborates with artists and organisations to explore creative and responsible uses of AI, designing tools and installations that make complex technologies accessible and responsive. His work has been presented at events including CVPR, and he has collaborated with artists such as Erika Tan on contemporary work presented at Tate Modern.

Augmented Reality Discovery Workshop
A free 1-hour introduction to augmented reality for school groups, led by interactive artist Max van Leeuwen.
Students experience AR first-hand through creative demonstrations and interactive installations, discovering how digital content can transform physical spaces. No laptops or devices needed, just curiosity! This session opens up understanding of how AR is used creatively across art, storytelling, and design.
What students gain:
• Direct hands-on experience with AR technology
• Understanding of creative applications beyond entertainment
• Exposure to how artists work with emerging technologies
• Fresh perspectives on digital creativity

Workshop leader: Max van Leeuwen
Max van Leeuwen is a digital artist and creative technologist based in Amsterdam, known for playful and innovative augmented reality experiments and interactive visual effects. His personal AR projects have reached hundreds of millions of views, earning him recognition as a Snap AR Ambassador and a leading creator in the Lens Studio community. Trained at the Netherlands Film Academy with a background in visual effects for film and TV, he now co runs the studio Max & Liisi, creating bold AR experiences for artists and brands including Olivia Rodrigo, Alienware, and Snapchat.
