Immersive Tech Network Kent Hub
Immersive Tech Network Kent Hub
The Kent Hub is part of Innovate UK Immersive Tech Network's Regional Hub Programme, a new national initiative connecting immersive technology communities across the UK. We are one of the founding regional hubs, based in Kent and led by A+E Lab at the Historic Dockyard Chatham.
The programme runs as a network of networks. Each hub delivers its own local activity and feeds into a national community, so work happening in Medway connects to work in Belfast, West Yorkshire and beyond.
Who we are
Immersive Tech Network Kent Hub is steered by three partners.
A+E Lab, our art and technology hub at Chatham Dockyard, leading on creative industries, immersive tech and AI
Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries/Docking Station, bringing research and R&D
Medway Council, connecting the hub to business, culture and the wider region
We work alongside event partners including Electric Medway, with more joining as the programme grows.
What we do
A+E Lab already runs a live programme of community events at the Dockyard, including the XR Sunday Social, artist residencies and cross-sector workshops. As a Regional Hub, we build on that to deliver quarterly events for Kent's immersive tech community.
Showcase and networking sessions bring practitioners together around demos, short talks and roundtables. Skills workshops offer hands-on time with AI, real-time tools and creative immersive technologies. Residency showcases give artists and technologists in residence a public platform for new R&D.
What's coming
Our next XR Sunday Social takes place on 18 October, in partnership with Electric Medway. It also launches the Kent Hub, introducing the partners and the year ahead. Full details will be announced shortly.
