Medway Library Virtual Reality Dance Workshops

In this workshop session, you will learn how to create a character based on your favourite character from the book in the library and make a 360 film as a group. Bringing your favourite costume is also recommended!

The session includes:
- Introduction
- Find your favourite book with the character
- Dance warm-up
- Making an action for 360 camera
- Quick shoot
- Review in the headset
- Feedback

Length: 1 hour
Age: 13-18 years old

Workshop leader: Esteban Lecoq and Aoi Nakamura
Aoi and Esteban are dancers, choreographers and Artistic Directors of AΦE (AE), a dance company based in Chatham. Their uniqueness lies in the use of technology to completely reinvent audience participation by touring their productions worldwide. AΦE is an associate artist of the Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries – University of Kent (iCCi) and in 2022 they launched A+E Lab, a cultural and technology hub located at Historic Dockyard Chatham, UK, producing innovative productions and delivering community and artist engagement programmes related to technology and culture. Across all their work, they engaged over 101,000 live audiences and participants internationally. Individually, Aoi and Esteban danced at major dance companies since 2006 in the UK and Europe including Jasmin Vardimon Company and Punchdrunk. https://aoiesteban.com/
